A process for preparing polyamides comprises polymerizing starting monomers
or starting oligomers in the presence of at least one compound of the
formula (I)

R is a functional group R.sup.8 which bears 1-4 identical or different
amide-forming groups R.sup.7,
R.sup.1 is H, C.sub.1 -C.sub.20 -alkyl, cycloalkyl, benzyl or OR.sup.6,
where R.sup.6 is H, C.sub.1 -C.sub.20 -alkyl, cycloalkyl or benzyl,
R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 are independently C.sub.1 -C.sub.10
-alkyl,
n is a natural number greater than 1, and
the piperidine derivatives attached to R are identical or different with
regard to the substituents, meaning R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4 and
R.sup.5.
The polyamides are useful for preparing filaments, fibers, films, sheetlike
structures and moldings.
Un procédé pour préparer des polyamides comporte la polymérisation commençant des monomères ou commençant des oligomères en présence au moins d'un composé du ## du ## STR1 de la formule (i) où R est un groupe fonctionnel R.sup.8 qui soutient 1-4 groupes deformation identiques ou différents R.sup.7, R.sup.1 est H, C.sub.1 - C.sub.20 - alkyl, cycloalkyl, benzylique ou OR.sup.6, où R.sup.6 est H, C.sub.1 - C.sub.20 - alkyl, cycloalkyl ou benzylique, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4 et R.sup.5 sont indépendamment C.sub.1 - C.sub.10 - alkyl, n est un nombre normal 1 plus grand que, et les dérivés de pipéridine attachés à R sont identiques ou différents en ce qui concerne les substituants, signifiant R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4 et R.sup.5. Les polyamides sont utiles pour préparer des filaments, des fibres, des films, des structures de sheetlike et des bâtis.
