A process in which material comprising an aqueous liquid with dispersed
particulate solids is pumped as a fluid then allowed to stand and rigidify
and the rigidification is improved whilst retaining the pump ability of
the material by combining polymeric particles with the material during or
prior to pumping the material, wherein the polymeric particles comprise
water soluble polymer which has an intrinsic viscosity of at least 3 dl/g.
The process of the invention more effectively minimises the area taken up
by a stack of the material of given volume whilst maintaining the
pumpability of the material. This invention is particularly suited to
material that comprises red mud from the Bayer alumina process.
Ein Prozeß, in dem das Material, das eine wäßrige Flüssigkeit mit zerstreuten aus Einzelteilen bestehenden Körpern enthält, als Flüssigkeit gepumpt wird, die dann stehen und rigidify lassen wird und das rigidification wird verbessert, während, die Pumpe Fähigkeit des Materials behalten durch das Kombinieren der polymerischen Partikel mit dem Material während oder vor des Pumpens des Materials, worin die polymerischen Partikel wasserlösliches Polymer-Plastik enthalten, das eine Grenzviskosität von mindestens 3 dl/g hat. Der Prozeß der Erfindung setzt effektiv den Bereich herab, der durch einen Stapel des Materials des gegebenen Volumens aufgenommen wird, während, die Pumpfähigkeit des Materials beibehalten. Diese Erfindung wird besonders zum Material entsprochen, das roten Schlamm vom Bayer Tonerdeprozeß enthält.
