A glass bulb for a cathode ray tube includes a panel and a funnel sealed to
each other at respective seal edge portions to form a sealing portion. The
panel includes a face portion with a substantially rectangular screen, and
a skirt portion constituting a sidewall of the face portion and having a
seal edge portion at its end. The funnel is connected to a cylindrical
neck portion for housing an electron gun. A distance H from the center of
the inner surface of the face portion to a point where a reference line of
the funnel crosses the bulb's central axis, and the diagonal length D of
the screen, satisfy D/H.gtoreq.3.3. A bent portion bending towards the
bulb's central axis is provided at least on a long side of the sealing
portion.
Eine Glasbirne für eine Kathodenstrahlröhre schließt eine Verkleidung und einen Trichter mit ein, die miteinander an den jeweiligen Dichtung Randteilen versiegelt werden, um einen Dichtung Teil zu bilden. Die Verkleidung schließt einen Gesicht Teil mit einem im wesentlichen rechteckigen Schirm und einen Rockteil, der eine Seitenwand des Gesicht Teils festsetzt und einen Dichtung Randteil an seinem Ende hat ein. Der Trichter wird an einen zylinderförmigen Ansatzteil für die Unterbringung einer Elektrongewehr angeschlossen. Ein Abstand H von der Mitte der inneren Oberfläche des Gesicht Teils zu einem Punkt, in dem eine Bezugslinie des Trichters die zentrale Mittellinie der Birne und die diagonale Länge D des Schirmes kreuzt, erfüllen D/H.gtoreq.3.3. Ein verbogener Teil, der in Richtung zur zentralen Mittellinie der Birne verbiegt, wird mindestens auf einer langen Seite des Dichtung Teils zur Verfügung gestellt.
