A blue organic light emitting diode (LED) comprises a cathode formed on a
substrate, a light emitting layer formed on said cathode, and an anode
formed on said light emitting layer, which is characterized in that said
light emitting layer comprises a compound of the following formulas I or
II:
wherein Ar.sub.1 and Ar.sub.2 independently are substituted or
unsubstituted isochrysenyl
Ar.sub.1 --Ar.sub.2 I
Ar.sub.1 --Ar.sub.3 --Ar.sub.2 II
(triphenylenyl), anthracenyl, naphthalyl, biphenyl, pyrenyl, or
phenanthrenyl; Ar.sub.3 is substituted or unsubstituted phenylene,
biphenylene, naphthylene, anthracenylene, or fluorenylene.
Un diodo luminescente organico blu (LED) contiene un catodo formato su un substrato, su uno strato d'emissione chiaro formato sul catodo detto e su un anodo formato sullo strato d'emissione chiaro detto, che รจ caratterizzato in quanto lo strato d'emissione chiaro detto contiene un residuo le seguenti formule I o II: in cui Ar.sub.1 ed Ar.sub.2 si sostituiscono indipendentemente o isochrysenyl non sostituito Ar.sub.1 -- Ar.sub.2 I Ar.sub.1 -- Ar.sub.3 -- Ar.sub.2 II (triphenylenyl), anthracenyl, naphthalyl, difenile, pyrenyl, o phenanthrenyl; Ar.sub.3 si sostituisce o fenilene, biphenylene, naphthylene, anthracenylene, o fluorenylene non sostituito.
