The present invention is directed to a multi-layer golf ball having a core,
an intermediate layer and a cover. The intermediate layer has a
non-ionomeric composition that includes an ethylene/acid polymer and a
non-ionomeric stiffening polymer. The stiffening polymer provides the
non-ionomeric composition with a flexural modulus and a hardness that are
greater than those of the ethylene/acid polymer.
