An exhaust gas re-circulation (EGR) tube includes a dual seal assembly that
prevents exhaust gas leakages. The EGR tube has a first end in
communication with an exhaust gas source and has a second end extending
into an intake manifold enclosed within an intake manifold housing. A
tapered sleeve surrounds the EGR tube at the second end. The sleeve has a
first end that is directly attached to the EGR tube and a second end that
is spaced apart from the EGR tube to define a gap. The sleeve has a
tapered body such that the cross-sectional area of the gap increases from
the first end to the second end of the sleeve. A first seal is positioned
between the sleeve and the intake manifold housing and a second seal is
positioned between the sleeve and the intake manifold. Grooves are formed
within the exterior surface of the tube to receive the seals.

Der EGR Schlauch hat ein erstes Ende in der Kommunikation mit einer Abgasquelle und hat ein zweites Ende, in einen Einlaßkrümmer zu verlängern, der innerhalb eines Einlaßkrümmergehäuses umgeben wird. Eine sich verjüngende Hülse umgibt den EGR Schlauch am zweiten Ende. Die Hülse hat ein erstes Ende, das direkt zum EGR Schlauch und zu einem zweiten Ende angebracht wird, das abgesehen von dem EGR Schlauch gesperrt wird, um einen Abstand zu definieren. Die Hülse hat einen sich verjüngenden Körper so, daß der Querschnittsbereich des Abstandes von das erste Ende bis das zweite Ende der Hülse erhöht. Eine erste Dichtung wird zwischen die Hülse in Position gebracht und das Einlaßkrümmergehäuse und eine zweite Dichtung wird zwischen die Hülse und den Einlaßkrümmer in Position gebracht. Nuten werden innerhalb der Außenfläche des Schlauches gebildet, um die Dichtungen zu empfangen.
