Alkenylalkoxysilanes such as allyltrimethoxysilane can be made by reacting
the corresponding monoalkenyldichlorosilane, i.e., allyldichlorosilane,
with a monohydroxy alcohols, i.e., methyl alcohol. No catalyst is required
and the reactions can be carried out at room temperature.
