A condensed heterocyclic compound having poly(adenosine
5'-diphospho-ribose)polymerase (PARP) inhibitory activity by the formula
(I): wherein R.sup.1 is hydrogen, halogen, lower alkyl or lower alkoxy, A
and two adjacent carbon atoms of the six membered ring to be bonded with
A form benzene ring, pyridine ring, etc, --Y.sup.1.dbd.Y.sup.2-- is
formula (II) wherein L.sup.11, L.sup.12, L.sup.13 and L.sup.14 is (1)
lower alkylene, (2) lower alkenylene, etc, and R.sup.21, R.sup.22,
R.sup.23 and R.sup.24 is (1) cyclic amino group, which is substituted
with phenyl optionally substituted with one or more suitable
substituent(s), etc. provided that when A and two adjacent carbon atoms
of the six membered ring to be bonded with A form benzene ring, then
--Y.sup.1.dbd.Y.sup.2-- is formula (III) or its prodrug, or their salts.

Μια συμπυκνωμένη ετεροκυκλική ένωση που αναπτύσσει την ανασταλτική δραστηριότητα 5'-diphospho-ribose)polymerase poly(adenosine (PARP) από τον τύπο (I): όπου R.sup.1 είναι υδρογόνο, αλόγονο, χαμηλότερο αλκυλικό ή χαμηλότερο αλκόξινο, Α και δύο παρακείμενα άτομα άνθρακα του membered δαχτυλιδιού έξι που συνδέονται με το δαχτυλίδι βενζολίου μορφής Α, pyridine του δαχτυλιδιού, κ.λπ..., -- Y.sup.1.dbd.Y.sup.2 -- είναι τύπος (II) όπου L.sup.11, L.sup.12, L.sup.13 και L.sup.14 είναι (1) χαμηλότερο alkylene, (2) χαμηλότερο alkenylene, κ.λπ..., και R.sup.21, R.sup.22, R.sup.23 και R.sup.24 είναι (1) κυκλική αμινο ομάδα, που αντικαθίσταται με το φαινύλιο που αντικαθίσταται προαιρετικά με ένα ή περισσότερα κατάλληλο substituent (σ), κ.λπ. υπό τον όρο ότι όταν χτυπούν Α και δύο παρακείμενα άτομα άνθρακα του membered δαχτυλιδιού έξι που συνδέεται με το βενζόλιο μορφής Α, έπειτα -- Y.sup.1.dbd.Y.sup.2 -- είναι τύπος (ΙΙΙ) ή το προφάρμακό του, ή τα άλατά τους. 1
