The present invention relates to a magnetic resonance imaging system that
includes a stationary electromagnet, a patient support for maintaining a
patient in a standing or seated position, and an actuator for raising and
lowering the patient relative to a magnetic field of the electromagnet
such that the patient is located within the magnetic field.
