A mobile application running in a mobile device may be coordinated or
synchronized with a non-mobile application running in a non-mobile device.
The mobile and non-mobile applications may be, for example, calendar
applications. To permit the use of a session-oriented
(connection-oriented) protocol stack when the transmission medium between
the mobile and non-mobile devices is connectionless, the mobile device
sends an initial communication to the non-mobile device. In response to
receipt of the initial communication, a session identifier is generated. A
first connection-oriented protocol frame is then formed that includes an
initial response and the session identifier. The first connection-oriented
protocol frame is embedded in a first connectionless protocol frame, and
the first connectionless protocol frame is sent to the mobile device.
Although the mobile device initiates the session, the session is
controlled by the non-mobile device.
Eine bewegliche Anwendung, die in eine bewegliche Vorrichtung läuft, kann mit einer nicht-beweglichen Anwendung koordiniert werden oder synchronisiert werden, die in eine nicht-bewegliche Vorrichtung läuft. Die beweglichen und nicht-beweglichen Anwendungen können z.B. Kalenderanwendungen sein. Um den Gebrauch von einem Lernabschnitt-orientierten (connection-oriented) protocol stack zu ermöglichen wenn das Getriebemittel zwischen den beweglichen und nicht-beweglichen Vorrichtungen ohne Verbindung ist, schickt die bewegliche Vorrichtung eine Ausgangskommunikation zur nicht-beweglichen Vorrichtung. In Erwiderung auf den Empfang der Ausgangskommunikation, wird eine Sitzungskennung erzeugt. Ein erster connection-oriented Protokollrahmen wird dann gebildet, der eine Ausgangsantwort und die Sitzungskennung miteinschließt. Der erste connection-oriented Protokollrahmen wird in einem ersten ohne Verbindungprotokollrahmen eingebettet, und der erste ohne Verbindungprotokollrahmen wird zur beweglichen Vorrichtung geschickt. Obgleich die bewegliche Vorrichtung den Lernabschnitt einleitet, wird der Lernabschnitt durch die nicht-bewegliche Vorrichtung gesteuert.
