The present invention is directed to synthetic, biodegradable,
biocompatible polymers that are the reaction product of an
.alpha.,.beta.-unsaturated polybasic acid or derivative thereof and a
monoglyceride, and which further contain pended thereto a functional
agent, and to medical devices and compositions containing such polymers.
