A shoe include an outsole, an insole, an upper, and a reinforcement member. The
insole is attached to the outsole along an upper surface thereof and is provided
with at least one aperture extending through the insole to the upper surface of
the outsole. The upper includes an elongate element extending into the aperture.
The reinforcement member is attached to the insole at least along an upper side
of the aperture for protecting material of the insole from stresses arising from
movement of the elongate element of the upper.
