Devices, software and methods are provided for determining a quality of
service for a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) connection. A round trip time
of packets is measured between the devices that are exchanging voice data. In addition,
at least one performance parameter is determined, such as packet delay or packet
loss. A quality of service is then determined from the round trip time and the
performance parameter.
