A disk drive includes an enclosure including a disk drive base and a disk drive
cover, a disk for storing data, a spindle motor attached to the disk drive base,
the spindle motor for rotating the disk and including a fixed spindle shaft defining
a longitudinal axis, and a disk plate attached to the disk drive base. The disk
plate includes a plate body extending radially above the disk and spaced-apart
longitudinally from the disk. The plate body is attached to the fixed spindle shaft.
