The invention relates to a light-mixing rod for homogenizing a light bundle,
preferably for use in projection devices, wherein the intensity centroid of the
light bundle moves in a longitudinal direction between a light inlet surface and
a light outlet surface, and reflecting surfaces are present in the light-mixing
rod, the surface normals of said reflecting surfaces being perpendicular or inclined
relative to said longitudinal direction, with partial beams being reflected by
said reflecting surfaces so as to guide the light bundle. Light emitting diodes
having a direction of action oriented toward the interior space and having a defined
radiation characteristic are provided in the lateral surfaces of the light-mixing
rod and/or in the light inlet surface for the purpose of forming the light bundle.
