A liquid crystal display includes a liquid crystal display panel, a lamp unit
including
a lamp and a lamp holder, a light guide plate, and a case assembly. The case assembly
includes a rear case behind the liquid crystal display panel. The rear case has
the lamp holder and light guide plate on a surface thereof in a manner to hold
them in operative relationship, with the lamp holder kept independent from the
light guide plate.
