A process of preparing a branched (co)polycarbonate resin is disclosed. The process
entails using at least one compound conforming to formulae 1a or 1b

- R1, R2 and R3 independently denote
linear or branched C1-C10-alkyl, R4 and R5
independently denote hydrogen or linear or branched C1-C10-alkyl,
p1 and p2 independently of one another denote a whole number
between 3 and 10, as a branching agent.
