A facsimile machine (F) that is capable of performing a confidential transmission,
broadcast transmission, etc. by batch transmission. If a user of the facsimile
machine wants to send a plurality of image data to a recipient, for instance, confidentially
and simultaneously at a specified time, the image data is accumulated in a memory
box (5a) for confidential batch transmission. The image data is then
sent to the recipient by batch transmission. The facsimile machine (F) determines
whether image data is for batch transmission or real time transmission. If the
image data is for real time transmission, it is not stored in the memory box (5a).
