The current invention provides improved methods of completing wellbores
penetrating unconsolidated and poorly consolidated subterranean zones. The
methods basically comprise the steps of placing a coated proppant in
fractures penetrating the subterranean zone, allowing the coated proppant
to cure or set as a fluid permeable barrier to particulate matter and
expanding an expandable well screen located adjacent to the fractures.
