A flapper finger valve assembly for use in an exhaust system. The flapper finger
valve includes a tube having a plurality of orifices therethrough. The flapper
finger valve assembly also includes a plurality of flapper finger valves generally
having a C-shape wherein the flapper finger valves are arranged on an outside surface
of the tube. The flapper finger valves are capable of radial movement with respect
to the tube. A plurality of retainers generally having a C-shape are arranged around
the flapper finger valve. These retainers will define a maximum radial movement
for such flapper finger valves on the tube. The flapper finger valve assembly also
includes a fastener which will secure the flapper finger valves between a tube
and retainers in the flapper finger valve assembly.
