In the invention, a recording material containing a support having a recording
layer thereon capable of forming a color by the application of heat and/or pressure
is provided, and the material further contains at least one layer containing acetoacetyl-modified
polyvinyl alcohol and a hardening agent between the support and the recording layer.
The hardening agent is a compound having, in one molecule thereof, two or more
vinyl groups adjacent to a substituent having a positive Hammett's substituent
constant p.
