A plastic lens is fixedly held in precise position a lens holder by cramming a
deformable retaining ring between a front collar and a periphery of the plastic
lens loosely put in an annular mounting space formed in the lens holder and crushing
the front collar against the retaining ring so as thereby to rivet the plastic
lens to the lens holder.
