A twisted pair status indicator is provided. The twisted pair status indicator
may be attached to a twisted pair access terminal to indicate whether the access
terminal has available and properly functioning twisted pairs. The twisted pair
status indicator may comprise a sliding door that reveals an available indication
when the sliding door is moved to one side. When the sliding door is moved to a
second side, an unavailable indication is revealed. The indications may be characters,
numerals or colors that indicate whether twisted pairs are available. The twisted
pair status indicator may also include a lock on the sliding door so that only
authorized personnel may make changes to the twisted pair status indicator.
