A method for providing communication control functionality at a remotely located
site using a distributed feature architecture which provides communication features
and data records to an Enhanced Network User (ENU). The ENU connects to a Distributed
Feature Network (DFN) in order to gain access to communications features contained
in the DFN. Based on the type of communication requested, one or more feature boxes
are created in order to implement the requested communication.
