A transformer management system and method involves using sensors to sense physical
quantities associated with the operation of a transformer. Processing circuitry
uses the sensed physical quantities to calculate values from mathematical models
for representing behavior of the transformer. These calculated values are compared
to threshold values and an output is generated based on the result of the comparison.
