Method and apparatus for the conversion or generation of a video signal intended
to be displayed on an image display with different luminance response times for
rise and fall. The conversion or generation of the video signal is so that motion
artefacts which are caused by the difference in luminance response times for rise
and fall such as large area luminance jumps, large-area flicker and faulty temporary
large-area luminance are fundamentally cancelled in the displayed image.
