When a personal authentication is to be executed, the encryption section of
an IC card encrypts biological data and supplies the obtained ciphertext to a sensor
unit. When the decryption section of the sensor unit obtains biological data by
decrypting the ciphertext, a collation section collates the biological data with
input biological measurement data, thereby authenticating personal identification.
