A suction fan and an exhaust fan are disposed in both the sides of a process
cartridge
so as to be opposed to each other across the process cartridge. Air vent holes
are formed in a shutter of the process cartridge. An air flow is produced through
the air vent holes between a process cartridge main unit and the shutter, whereby
the process cartridge is cooled.
