A welding head for connecting weld members by resistance welding includes an
infeed
cylinder having a piston rod, an electrode movable via the cylinder; and a sensor
arranged between the piston rod of the infeed cylinder and a readjusting spring
for the rapid readjustment of the electrode. The sensor is clamped in place between
contact means in a sleeve-shaped or tubular drive shaft mounted in a housing.
