System and method for detecting emitter signals using real antenna data

A system and method is provided for detecting emitter signals and for determining a scan strategy for a receiver system that receives such emitter signals. In one embodiment of the invention, a set of models is used to compute antenna characteristics as a function of frequency, gain, power, beam width, scan and polarization. Data such as actual antenna gain vs azimuth for several polarizations may also be used, thereby reducing the amount of data needed for the antenna modeling purposes.
