A urine detection system and method. According to one aspect of the invention,
the method includes generating a magnetic field within an effective distance of
a potentially wetted area, and conducting a plurality of measurements to construct
a magnetic energy distribution function corresponding to the potentially wetted
area. The method further includes comparing at least one parameter of the magnetic
energy distribution function to a set of stored parameters corresponding to known
wetness conditions to identify a wetness condition of the potentially wetted area.
