An electrical connector including a housing having a deflectable latch; electrical
contacts connected to the housing; and a connector position assurance (CPA) member
slidably mounted to the housing. The latch has a front end with an inward projecting
latch projection. The front end of the latch includes a first rearward facing stop
surface and a second forward facing stop surface. The forward facing stop surface
is located at a top side of the front end. The first stop surface is adapted to
retain the CPA member at an unlocked position. The second stop surface is adapted
to retain the CPA member at a locked position at the top side of the front end.
