Dry pet food with increased palatability and method of production

   
   

An increased palatability dry pet food product is provided having residual -amylase activity, a moisture content of 5 to 12%, and an Instron value of between 9.5 and 17.5 foot lbs. A method of producing the dry pet food product is also provided.
