A printing machine for multicolor printing which includes a plurality of printing
units and a system for transporting and guiding either sheet-type or web-type printable
matter through the printing units. The guiding system includes means, such as adhesive,
contact pressure, or retaining belts, for maintaining the printable matter on a
transfer belt in proper registry during transfer through the successive printing units.
