A laser driver circuit to provide a current signal to power a laser device is
described.
A bias current provided to the laser device may be changed while changes in the
output power of a light signal from the laser device is monitored. A slope efficiency
associated with the laser device may be determined based upon the changes in the
bias current and changes in the output power.
