An aqueous liquid composition comprising a reactive cyclodextrin derivative and at least one component selected from the group consisting of water-miscible organic solvent and .epsilon.-caprolactam is excellent in storage stability and useful in a finishing process for the treatment of suitable substrates, such as fibre materials.
