Nuclear spin tomography (synonym: magnetic resonance tomography, MRT) is
applied in medicine for the purpose of examining patients. A method is
proposed for improving the image homogeneity of image data from
phase-cycled steady state sequences in magnetic resonance tomography. In
the method, both the sum of squares (SOS) and the maximum intensity
projection (MIP) are calculated, pixel-wise, from the image data of the
participating sequences. Further, a result image optimized with regard to
image homogeneity is obtained by pixel-wise combination of the
sum-of-squares image and MIP image.
