The invention provides methods for the detection of prion diseases, such as scrapie
of sheep, bovine spongiform encephalopathy of cattle, Creutzfeld-Jacob disease
of man, whereby aberrant proteins or prion proteins are detected in tissues which
can be sampled from line animals.
