A system and a method for reducing the number of Object Request Broker (ORB)
connections
in an Internet Inter-ORB Protocol (IIOP) or similar distributed computing environment.
The system reduces the total number of connections needed between the clients and
the servers. Embodiments include an intelligent concentrator process for requests
going from within a domain to outside of the domain. The concentrator can allow
concentration by ensuring that multiple requests from within the domain use the
same actual connection for their requests to an object implementation outside of
the domain.
