An adjustable cam shaft includes an elongated shaft which may include multiple
shaft sections rotatably coupled to one another. Intake and exhaust cam lobes are
carried by the one or more shafts and are selectively rotatable relative to one
another and selectively locked in place relative to one another in order to adjust
a displacement angle between the cam lobes to alter intake and exhaust timing and
other engine characteristics without the need to replace the cam shaft.
