A bootjack for use in removing foot wear from the foot of a user includes a body which is pivotally linked to a body for movement between a stowage position and an operative position. In the stowage position, the body rests in juxtaposition upon the base. In the operative position, the rearward edge of the body bears against an abutment surface carried by the base and a linkage holds the forward yoke end of the body in an upwardly directed position for locationally receiving the lower posterior portion of the foot wear and engaging the upper edge of the heel to be removed. The bootjack is stabilized by the other foot or the user which presses downwardy upon the upper surface of the body.
