An automated guidance control system for controlling the lateral and
longitudinal position of one or more vehicles along a plurality of
partially coincident travel paths defined by an equal number of guideway
conductors. A wayside installation uses time-division-multiplexing
techniques to communicate vehicle longitudinal control information over
each guideway conductor in sequence and each vehicle develops timing
information from the received control information to enable lateral
guidance sampling in timed relationship with the transmission of the
control information.
