Noise, such as wind noise, for example, may be detected in an electronic
device by generating first and second microphone signals. Cross
correlation coefficients are determined for the first and the second
microphone signals and autocorrelation coefficients are determined for
the first and second microphone signals, respectively. A determination
may be made with regard to the presence of a noise component in at least
one of the microphone signals based on the cross correlation
coefficients, the first autocorrelation coefficients, and the second
autocorrelation coefficients.
