An FCC apparatus uses a cantilevered support for supporting baffles in a
stripping vessel. Only one end of the support is fastened to a wall of a
contacting conduit or a wall of the stripping vessel and the other end is
spaced apart from the near wall of the contacting conduit or the
stripping vessel. The arrangement provides for easier maintenance and
accommodates differential thermal expansion.
