The present invention relates to terminal electrode compositions for multilayer ceramic capacitors. More specifically, it relates to terminal electrode compositions for multilayer ceramic capacitors which have a metal oxide component selected from SnO.sub.2, V.sub.2O.sub.5 and MoO.sub.3. The compositions can be fired at a low temperature in a nitrogen atmosphere.
