A pigment dispersant represented by the following general formula (1) is provided: ##STR00001## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4, R.sub.5, R.sub.6, R.sub.7, R.sub.8, R.sub.9 and R.sub.10 each independently is --H, --Cl, --CH.sub.3, --CF.sub.3, --NO.sub.2, --COOCH(CH.sub.3).sub.2 or --COOCH.sub.2CH.sub.2Cl; R.sub.11, R.sub.12, R.sub.13 and R.sub.14 each independently is --H, --Cl, --CH.sub.3 or --CN; M is one equivalent of a bivalent or trivalent metal; and n is an integer of 1 to 3.
