In addition, an optical system of a viewfinder which is detachably attachable to the image pickup apparatus body includes a first reflecting mirror disposed on a display screen at an angle of 45 degrees or less with respect to the display screen, a second reflecting mirror disposed in parallel to the first reflecting mirror for reflecting a light beam from the first reflecting mirror in a direction parallel to light incident on the first reflecting mirror, and negative and positive lenses for leading a light beam from the second reflecting mirror to an eye of the photographer.
