A golf ball with a solid core formed of a rubber composition having an organic peroxide coated with a thermoplastic resin blended therein as a microcapsule, and a method of manufacturing the same are provided. The micro-encapsulated organic peroxide content is preferably 1 100 mass % with respect to the total organic peroxide.
