An aqueous composition comprises a mixture of from 10 to 50% by weight of a polymer A) having a gel content of less than 40% by weight and a number-average molecular weight M.sub.n of the soluble fractions of less than 30,000 and from 50 to 90% by weight of a filler B), the amounts by weight being based on the weight sum of the polymer and of the filler.
