An optical apparatus is disclosed which can control a position of a driven
member with precision using a simple control algorithm. The optical
apparatus includes an actuator, a driven member, a transmission mechanism
for transmitting a driving force from the actuator to the driven member,
a first detector for detecting driving of the actuator and for outputting
a signal corresponding to a detection result, a second detector for
detecting driving of the driven member and for outputting a signal
corresponding to a detection result, and a controller for controlling the
actuator, wherein the controller determines, after activating the
actuator, one of the first and second detectors which the one outputs a
signal corresponding to a predetermined driving amount earlier, and
controls the actuator based on the signal from the one that has been
determined.
